Session 1
From April to June, we began our environmental justice journey with great enthusiasm. During this period, we learned about the importance of keeping rivers clean and the significant ways pollution directly impacts our drinking water. We also explored the essential role that decomposers, such as worms, play in the food chain and how they contribute to the protection and health of various environments. Additionally, we examined how systemic racism continues to affect our modern education system, influencing opportunities and experiences. Through our collaboration with Rosenwald Schools, we gained a deeper understanding of the value of community and the preservation of cultural heritage. Overall, the Youth Environmental Leadership Initiative has been on a remarkable roll, making meaningful progress and inspiring many.
